MIDI - Installation of Accordions
Normaly every accordion can be provided with a MIDI-Extension. The most important thing is to have enough space and the mechanics of the treblekeys and the basses are in a good condition. If not, we first have to fix the mechanical problems.
Today normaly 2 versions of contacts are used:
1: electronic
contacts (magnet switches sensor), mostly used
2: mechanical contacts,
only used, if you cannot use electronic contacts
We install following variations
Standard: contactversions
like up, technical dokument followed
Dynamic: like standard,
added volume-change following the bellow-movement

features:
- Treble: 3 seperate Midi-channels, channel-numbers free programmable, separate switchable, oktavoffset +/-
- Accord: 1 Midi-channel free programmable, switchable, oktavoffset +/-
- Bass: 1 Midi-channel free programmable, switchable, oktavoffset +/-, lowest bassnote programmable.
- All settings can be programmed with the treblekeys and two additional keys (program-mode, program-number).
- Sending of programm-numbers to switch the expander/keyboard by using the treble keys.
- Programm-numbers und Midi-channels are freely programmable to the treblekeys.
- The settings can be stored up and do not get lost when the instrument is switched off.
Following basic settings are given:
Treble:
1. MIDI-Channel = 1, switched on
2. MIDI-Channel = 4, switched off
3. MIDI-Channel = 5, switched off
Accord:
MIDI-Channel = 2, switched on
Bass:
MIDI-Channel = 3, switched on
No oktav-transpose, deepest bassnote = C, activsensing on, velocity = 127. Programnumbers 0 to 40 at MIDI-Channel 1 = treblekeys "f" to "a3".
You always get this main settings by using the funktion "get main settings" = treblekey "h2"
You can switch on the dynamic for every side independently in 5 steps
The optical changes of the instrument are only the connection-plug and the two separate keys, because there are no further additional buttons you need to program the accordion. Also the use of modern electronic needs no noticeable mechanical changes and an increase of the weight.
For the following Hohner Vox Models we do have MIDI-Extensions, you can use without any changes at the accordion. The technical datas are the same like the standard-Midi (except Hohner Vox 5). You cannot get dynamic and wireless at this way.

Hohner Vox 4P/K
Hohner Vox F

Hohner Vox 5P just needs a power pack, but there is no programchange or other features possible
